Enoch Stomp Winery & Vineyard

A few Sundays ago we visited the Enoch Stomp winery and vineyard. The further adventures of Texas Wineries has also taken us to the Dallas/Fort Worth area but more on the metro wineries later. Enoch Stomp is tucked away into rolling hills in East Texas just outside of Longview. The long drive up to the tasting room gives a glimpse down rows of vines and the Satterwhite Lodge is available for events. I can just imagine a wedding reception on the grounds around the lodge. The tasting room is cool (really cool in the 100+ heat of June) with bistro tables and a granite counter. Our hostess was so friendly and pleasant we felt we had dropped in on a friend for a glass of wine. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

The Eagle Has Landed...

I have posted this youtube video of the launch and landing on the moon 40 years ago. I hope everyone enjoys it. If you are too young to remember it, then it is especially dedicated to you. My memory of that day is faint, I was almost 5 years old and I recall hearing the radio announcer talking about it as we were riding in the car. I have no idea where we were going, just that it was hot and cars in those days, for the most part did not have a/c. My family lived in Houston Texas in a little brick house in a typical neighborhood for the 60's. We had a yellow Ford Fairlane.
